Despite the toll urbanisation takes on nature, wildlife still thrives amongst us.

This scene of a monitor lizard eating trash in a polluted drain epitomises the meaning of

                               the term "urban wildlife".

I found this gecko in my mailbox, its position provided a not-so-common view of its feet.

Roadkill squirrel for dinner anyone? Spotted on the countryside road at Lim Chu Kang.

A bird perched on a fence just by the busy roadside in Pasir Ris.

Hummingbirds still exist in our city, however, they aren't the most common sight you'd see.

                               Crane in the drain.

A heron all stretched out, apparently reaching for fish.

This striking pink dragonfly perched itself on a twig, oblivious to the people closeby. The

second picture shows a backdrop of coin operated toy capsule machines.

An ant wins a tug-o-war match, guess they aren't all that "communal" after all.

This is what the heron looks like in normal stance.

I spotted a group of wild chickens (including a colourful rooster) in a forest. My attempts
to get near them to take a picture failed as they got startled and fled. However, one of the
hens suddenly darted out of the vegetation when I had already given up chasing them and
I quickly snapped a picture of it.
